Troubleshooting Email Deliverability in FileInvite
This article explains how to resolve email deliverability issues when borrowers or third parties are not receiving their FileInvite portal invitation links. These issues are typically caused by strict inbound email filters on the recipient's mail server.
If your login URL ends in fileinvite.com, use this knowledge base instead.
How the Invite Email Process Works
When you send an Invite, FileInvite automatically emails a secure, unique portal link to your borrower or contact. The borrower clicks the link to access the Client Portal and upload their documents directly.
Some financial institutions use aggressive spam or phishing filters that may quarantine automated emails—including FileInvite portal links—before they reach the intended inbox. If your contacts are not receiving their Invite emails, whitelisting FileInvite's sending domain and IP addresses with their IT team is the most effective solution.
FileInvite Sending Details
Provide the following information to your IT department or your borrower's IT team to whitelist FileInvite:
- Primary Sending Domain: fileinvite.app
- Application Domain: *.fileinvite.app
- Mail Server IP Address: 149.72.212.118 (sent via SendGrid)
Security and Compliance Information
If your IT team or your borrower's institution requires security documentation before whitelisting, FileInvite can provide the following:
- Encryption: All data is encrypted using AES-256 at rest and TLS 1.2+ in transit.
- Compliance: FileInvite is SOC 2 Type 2 certified.
- SOC 2 Report: Available upon request. A standard NDA or an existing contract must be in place before the report can be shared. Contact your FileInvite representative to arrange this.
Steps to Request Whitelisting
- Copy the IT Whitelisting Template (see the related article below) and send it to the relevant IT or security administration team.
- CC your point of contact at the borrower's organisation to confirm the request is part of an authorised business partnership—this typically speeds up approval.
- Once the IT team confirms the changes have been made, send a test Invite to verify delivery.
Note: If you are unsure which team to contact at a large financial institution, your borrower's point of contact can usually direct you to the right person.
🎉 Once whitelisting is complete, your borrowers will receive their portal links directly in their primary inbox without interruption. 🎉
