Managing Notification Preferences

Learn how to customize your email notification settings to stay informed about Invite activity and messages. FileInvite allows you to control exactly which updates you receive, ensuring you only get notified about the events that matter most to you.

If your FileInvite Login URL ends in fileinvite.com, please use this knowledge base instead.

How to Access Notification Preferences

  1. Navigate to Settings from the left sidebar
  2. Select Notification Preferences
  3. The Notification Preferences page will display all available notification options

Notification Categories

FileInvite organizes notifications into two main categories: Invite Activity and Messages.

Master Toggle

At the top of the Notification Preferences page, you'll find a master toggle switch. The master toggle must be enabled for any individual notification preferences to take effect.

Invite Activity Notifications

These notifications keep you informed about the status and progress of your Invites:

 

Notification Description Default
Invite sent Get a confirmation email when your Invite is successfully sent Enabled
Invite in progress Be notified when a contact starts completing your request Enabled
Contact submission complete Be alerted when a contact finishes submitting their requests Enabled
Ready for review All documents have been submitted — time to review the Invite Enabled
Invite still pending at due date Get a reminder when the due date arrives and the Invite is still incomplete Enabled
Request submission Get notified when a request is submitted Disabled by default

The Request submission notification includes a Frequency dropdown where you can choose between:

  • Real-time: Receive notifications immediately as requests are submitted
  • Every 2 hours: Receive batched notifications every two hours

Messages Notifications

Stay connected with your contacts through message notifications:

Notification Description Default
New message from borrower Get notified instantly when a borrower sends you a message Enabled

Updating Your Preferences

To change your notification settings:

  1. Check or uncheck the box next to any notification type to enable or disable it
  2. For Request submission notifications, click the Frequency dropdown to select your preferred timing
  3. Changes are saved automatically

💡 Best Practice: Review your notification preferences periodically to ensure they align with your current workflow. If you're managing many Invites simultaneously, consider using the "Every 2 hours" frequency for request submissions to reduce email volume.
