Edit, Rename, Duplicate, or Delete a Template
Learn how to modify and manage existing templates for your account.
- If your Fileinvite Login URL ends in fileinvite.com, please use this knowledge base instead.
- Templates are available only to users with an Organisation Owner, Admin, or User role. Learn more about user roles and permissions here.
To get started, click Template Library from the left sidebar to bring up your templates list. Each template row has a set of icons under the Actions column, used to duplicate, edit, or delete that template.

Edit or Rename a Template
To edit a template's content or change its name:
- Navigate to the Template Library from the sidebar
- Locate the template you want to modify
- Click the pencil icon in the Actions column
This opens the Edit Template screen. Click the pencil icon next to the template name at the top to rename it.
Under Requests, you can:
- Update the Invite Name field
- Edit the Message to client
- Click Add Request to add a new document request, or Create Group to organize requests into a group
- Use the arrow, checkbox, and drag icons on each request row to expand, select, or reorder requests
On the right, use the Categories panel to click + Assign Categories, and the Reminders panel to click Set Reminders.

Note: Changes save automatically as you work. Click Finish Editing in the top-right corner when you're done.
Duplicate a Template
Click the copy icon in the Actions column to automatically create a copy of the selected template, which you can then edit or rename as needed.
Delete a Template
Click the trash icon in the Actions column to bring up the delete confirmation window. Once deleted, a template cannot be restored.
Note: You can also assign a category to any template directly from the list by clicking Assign category, and mark frequently used templates with the star icon to add them to Favorites.
